WHO IS PAUL McGILL?

Paul McGill is the author of Finding the Lost Weekend and the upcoming They Know Not What They Do.

Having raised three children, Paul lives as an empty nester with his wife of thirty-two years in the greater metropolitan area of Salt Lake City, Utah. Paul was born in 1951 to Irish Catholic parents, the eldest son and the fourth of ten children. He was educated exclusively in the local Catholic school system (K-12), where his mode of thinking collided with the dominant Mormon Religion, as well as his own faith. He continued his studies in liberal arts in Helena, Montana before returning to Utah.

Family ties brought him into structural engineering, fabrication and construction in Phoenix, Arizona for the first fifteen years of his career. He returned to Salt Lake to establish an engineering-related business, where he works. Despite the strict discipline governing the structural engineering field, Paul has sought balance with a keen interest in British History, Irish wit and culture, travel and physical fitness.

“Arriving at this time in life has afforded me the opportunity and means to chronicle the experiences stashed away from years gone by. May they be good or bad, happy or sad, the accounts merit their preservation through narrative.” This author attempts to speak with a unique voice about his curious perspective on life and the slightly skewed scrutiny of his observations of the human element.
